Welcome!

I am a writer who loves good music, a musician who loves good books, and a teacher who loves sharing both music and literature with others. In recent years it has been my privilege to combine these loves by writing music stories: stories that honor the creation of beauty, even in the bleakest circumstances, through the creation of music. Fiction writing has also led me to a deep interest in the recent history of central and eastern Europe, particularly Hungary, where my novels-in-progress are set.
In the pages of my blog, here’s what you’ll find:

  • posts related to the challenges of writing (“Writing” tab)
  • thoughts on books and stories unearthed in my historical research (“History” tab)
  • musings on life, on faith and on the people I’ve learned the most from—my family members (“Life . . .” tab)

Come and explore with me!
